Everyone is looking for that perfect balance in an outdoor shoe. You want comfort, weather protection, breathability, and durability. What if you could find one option that can do just that?

I stumbled across Tropical Feel in my search for the ultimate travel shoe. Since I am always on the move, I need a shoe that can keep up with me – and will support me when needed. Let’s see if Tropic Feel is the right choice for all you travel-lovers out there.

Guest Blog Introduction

Emma is a 26-year-old freelance writer who has been traveling around Europe for the past 4 years and writing about her experiences. She plays professional soccer and constantly moves from country to country playing for various teams, and hiking/backpacking in-between seasons.
Emma enjoys writing travel blogs, product reviews, creative stories, and marketing articles for companies she is passionate about. When she is not writing, you can typically find her training for soccer, hiking the nearest mountain, or taking a bus to some trails far away and finding her way back. It usually leads to some pretty good stories.

Tropic Feel At a Glance

First thing is first – we need to go over just how great this company is. It feels good when you purchase a product from a reputable source, right? Well, Tropicfeel won’t leave you disappointed.

The company’s journey started with an excursion to Thailand, prompting them to create versatile outdoor pieces that could last a long time, in order to save packing weight and increase the longevity of outdoor products. The main motivation for their Tropicfeel shoes was the creation of great gear that someone can use anywhere – and everywhere.

Not only do they strive to make long-lasting products, but they strive to promote a healthy and respectful attitude to our world. Many people travel and leave a huge eco-footprint behind them. Tropicfeel wants to encourage travelers to reduce their carbon footprint, and to enjoy nature.

Now, let’s get into the real specs of the shoe…

Shoe Exterior

When buying a travel shoe, you want it to still be stylish. I mean, you’re going to be wandering around different cities and countries in one pair of shoes, so they’re going to show up in every picture. Tropicfeel has made these shoes look pretty cool.

The outer material is made of sustainable fabrics, like recycled polyester and other vegan-friendly products to enhance their environmentally-conscious theme. They created the shoe using an elastic counter heel, which fits snugly and securely to the back of your ankle without being uncomfortable. On the bottom of the shoe, there is a full rubber piece, which limits any slipping and enhances traction on various surfaces. Lastly, sprint laces are utilized in order to quickly and efficiently tighten your shoes, while preventing the formation of knots.

Key Features of Tropicfeel

There are a few key features that we love about this shoe. First, it quickly dries after getting wet during a rainstorm. The high-tech materials used in the construction of the shoe allow it to dry without making it heavy and uncomfortable for your feet.

Second, the shoes contain odor-fighting properties that prevent bad smells after wearing them all-day-long. The Agion treatment on the shoes lasts an entire lifetime, so you won’t have to worry about smelling up your Airbnb after a long day of hiking.

Third, the shoes are easy and efficient to use and get on. With a slip-on style, the shoes are very easy to put on, and securely grip the back of your heel to prevent slipping out of the shoe. The snug fit ensures that these shoes will stay locked to your feet during all types of adventures.

Next, Tropicfeel shoes are very lightweight, coming in at just 7 ounces. These shoes are so light, you can even pack them in your bag – if you’re not wearing them, that is. Clipping these bad boys to the back of your pack with a carabiner won’t add any weight or bulk to your pack, enhancing the travel and transportation abilities of these shoes. Not to mention, while you’re wearing them, you’ll feel as if you’re just floating on air.

Tropicfeel shoes are also extremely breathable. You can wear them with or without socks, depending on what activity you’re about to do – or if you have any clean socks that day. We’re guessing you probably don’t.

Lastly, these shoes are vegan friendly. Made with materials that everyone can get behind, these shoes are manufactured without any animal products or materials. Vegans and carnivores, unite!

What I Love About the Shoe

Seeing this shoe, I first loved the look and style. You can literally wear these anywhere and they don’t look like some clunky hiking boot that is fresh off the trail. The stylish color combinations and the lacing system make this shoe appear as if it is just a casual, city shoe – although we know what it can really do.

One of the best things about this shoe is comfort. I love the option to wear it without socks since it is sometimes difficult to find laundromats while you are traveling in remote areas. If you are hiking or backpacking through rural areas, then these shoes provide great respite for your tired feet. The elastic counter heel and removable footbed are lifesavers.

In addition, I was pleasantly surprised by the durability of these shoes. Although they look like lightweight and casual trainers, these shoes have added durability due to the high-quality exterior materials. Although they might not be as burly as heavy-duty hiking boots, these shoes can adequately fill-in the spaces on your trips that involve lots of road walking and easier trails.

What I Don’t Love About the Shoe

With such a high-quality shoe, it is hard to dissect the things I don’t absolutely love about the product. However, one thing stood out to me.

Since the material is so breathable and well-ventilated, we know that this shoe is great for water activities. The quick-drying lets you walk through the water – literally – and then have your feet dry-out within a short time frame. However, this same breathability makes these shoes unsuitable for cold weather. I wouldn’t recommend bringing these shoes through a winter hike in the French Alps, for example.

Is Tropicfeel the Best Choice for You?

We gotta say, these shoes are super versatile. With ample comfort, exterior durability, quick-drying abilities, easy adjustability, and functional traction, we can confidently wear them on almost any adventure. If you are planning on going on an extended trip, then Tropicfeel shoes can be the only ones you bring along. Thank us when your checked bag is just underweight at the airport.
