The Moments Remembered

” The least of things with a meaning is worth more in life than the greatest of things without it.”

– C.G Jung – from the book “Modern Man in Search of Soul”.

I believe meaning in a moment is the one main reason we remember those moments. We experience a multitude of moments in the conscious and unconscious ( the dream state ). According to Jung, there is factors that cause us to recall certain moments, to create memories fro them. When reflecting on our lives, there is opportunity to see how we can improve our level of meaningful moments.

I think there is an error in our societal levels of respect during this day and age.

Who deserves more respect, the school teacher who creates meaning and learning in kid’s lives or the stock broker who owns a infinite amount of great stuff with no meaning?

80% of people would say the school teacher on first impulse. We all know that in the eyes of society, the stock broker is more respected than the teacher. The school teacher seeks no approval as they create meaning out of their care for others.

Now, Jung doesn’t seem to be saying that all acts of greatness are meaningless, but rather that small acts that create lasting meaning will last a lifetime in memory while meaningless greatness will be gone with the wind.

I feel like we as humans are in constant search for the next above average moment. The moments that elevate the psyche challenge the soul. Together, we become closer as the soul is challenged and forced to elevate to its next level of growth. These are the experiences that I wish to hold onto. These are the moments I hope you get to experience this week. The smallest act done authentically can be meaningful beyond all doubt. Keep it Sintra as always and rise up to this week’s challenges.
