Sintra knows the New Year is in the now, which means so are those New Year’s Resolutions. Before you start ripping up those lists, we thought we’d give you some out-of-the-box suggestions to ring in another trip around the sun.
BITE SIZE PLANS FOR 2018 – TRAVEL LIGHT LIVE HEAVY
Tip #1: Get Back to Nature When it Comes to Working Out.
Seriously, do you know how jam-packed that gym is going to be with resolution riders? Public gyms are going to be so overcrowded, as a matter of fact, that people who go year round might seriously consider using a week or two to get more creative about their fitness. Nature hikes are great — one of the best ways to burn fat is to walk at an incline. Take the doggo out for a walk in the morning and the evenings. If you don’t have one of your own, ask one of your neighbors without coming across too creepy. They’ll probably thank you and be more likely do something sweet for you in the future. Turn your walks into brisk jogs. Once the weather gets warmer, do your exercise routine on the beach. Take up surfing. Don’t be afraid; a few people are already doing both.
Tip #2: Instead of One Big Adventure for This Year, Why Not Have Many Bite-Sized Adventures?
If everyone else is going on a Euro trip, maybe it suits you this year to do something a little more modest. Or perhaps you don’t want to spend all your hard-earned travel and fun money on one single thing. Go to that expensive restaurant you’ve always been meaning to, take your partner or a close friend to that Warhol exhibit before it leaves town. Go to a film festival in either your city or a place close to your proximity.
Pick a place either randomly or one that sounds just right that’s only 150 miles away from your house. Then take a train ride to that place with a notebook, recording your thoughts. There are a million ways you can step outside of your zone without stepping outside of the country.
Tip #3: Be Either More Informed or Less Informed
Garner new interests and broaden your horizons. If you’re in front of the computer most of the time, get outside and get back to nature. If you haven’t read a book since high school or college, make a point to do so this year. If you read already, learn something new and exciting, or go with an oddity that one friend who has strange taste keeps telling you to check out. Pick a lonely planet book about a place you want to go and then go.
Tip #4: Pack Light and Think Sintra
Think about the purchases you make this year and try not to spend your money on random “stuff.” Follow your money as far as you can. Make meaningful investments in your future, and exhaust a little fewer resources on disposable pleasures. Go ahead and make that money, but create experiences along the way. Trust in products, companies, and services that are conscious of the environment and caring of the world around them. Browse Sintra products today.
